Shippo: Shipping Labels and Rates for Moroccan Founders Selling in the US

Shippo

Shippo is a multi-carrier shipping platform that lets online sellers compare rates, print labels, and track packages across USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL Express from one dashboard. For diaspora founders running a US-registered store or shipping to customers within the US, Shippo can genuinely cut label costs and save time. For Moroccan founders shipping strictly within Morocco, it offers close to nothing, since none of its discounted carrier accounts cover domestic Moroccan delivery.

Key features

  • Compares discounted rates from USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL Express, plus select regional carriers like Canada Post, Royal Mail, and Australia Post, in a single dashboard
  • Generates and prints shipping labels individually or in batches
  • Syncs orders automatically from Shopify, WooCommerce, Etsy, BigCommerce, and other supported carts
  • Provides branded tracking pages and automated tracking emails to customers
  • Validates delivery addresses and flags errors before a label is purchased
  • Generates return labels and supports scan-based returns
  • Offers a shipping API for teams that want to build label creation into their own checkout or fulfillment tools
  • Lets users connect their own carrier accounts, including a DHL Express, FedEx, or UPS account opened outside the US, instead of relying on Shippo’s US-based discounts

Pricing

Shippo’s pricing is built around US shipping volume. At the time of writing, it breaks down into three tiers.

  • Starter (free): $0 per month for up to 30 labels, one user login, discounted USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL Express rates, unlimited store connections, automations, and email support. Labels beyond 10,000 a month cost $0.08 each, and connecting your own carrier account costs $0.05 per label.
  • Professional: starts at $19 per month and scales with shipping volume, covering up to 10,000 labels, five or more user logins, free carrier account connections, branded tracking pages and packing slips, and chat and phone support.
  • Premier: custom, quote-based pricing for unlimited shipments, up to 300 user logins, a dedicated account manager, and a 99.9 percent uptime service level agreement.

International address validation costs extra on every tier: 9 cents per address on Starter, 8 cents on Professional, and 6 cents on Premier.

Prices change over time. Figures above are based on Shippo’s official pricing page and Capterra’s Shippo pricing listing.

Pros and cons

ProsCons
Compares discounted USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL Express rates in one dashboard, which cuts real cost for US-origin shipmentsNo discounted carrier account for Morocco, so it adds no rate advantage for domestic Moroccan shipping
Free Starter plan covers up to 30 labels a month, enough to test a small US-based storeG2 reviewers report sudden account holds that require identity verification, including ID or selfie checks, before shipping resumes
Syncs orders automatically from Shopify, WooCommerce, Etsy, and other major cartsReporting and notification tools stay basic even on paid tiers, according to repeat user feedback
Batch label printing and return labels save time once order volume growsPremier tier pricing is quote only, so the real cost ceiling is not visible before contacting sales
Rated 4.8 out of 5 on Capterra across 827 reviews, with users citing an easy learning curveRated lower on G2, 4.2 out of 5 across 77 reviews, where users flag inconsistent support responsiveness and no live phone support on the free tier

Who it’s best for

Shippo fits Moroccan diaspora founders who run a US-registered e-commerce store, a US-based Etsy or Shopify shop, or a US fulfillment operation shipping to customers in the US or Canada. It also has limited use for Moroccan founders who already hold their own DHL Express, FedEx, or UPS account for outbound international shipping from Morocco, since those are the three carriers Shippo can route labels through globally. In that case, Shippo mainly centralizes rate comparison and label printing across carriers a founder already pays for, rather than adding Shippo’s own discounted rates, which do not extend to Morocco.

Founders shipping domestically within Morocco, through Amana, Poste Maroc, CTM, or a local courier network, should look elsewhere. Shippo has no partnership with any Moroccan carrier, so it cannot generate a domestic Moroccan label, apply a Moroccan discount, or track a Poste Maroc or Amana shipment. It also does not support the cash-on-delivery dispatch workflows that most Moroccan online sellers rely on for local orders.

How to get started

  1. Create a free account at goshippo.com and pick a starting plan.
  2. Connect your sales channel, such as Shopify, WooCommerce, or Etsy, or add orders manually.
  3. If you ship from the US, activate Shippo’s discounted USPS, UPS, FedEx, or DHL Express rates. If you ship from Morocco, connect your own DHL Express, FedEx, or UPS account instead.
  4. Compare rates across carriers for each order and purchase the label that fits your delivery timeline and budget.
  5. Set up branded tracking pages and automated tracking emails for customers.
  6. Upgrade to the Professional plan once you pass 30 labels a month or need phone and chat support.
