At the head of the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC), Nezha Hayat is the first woman to hold the position.. A graduate of Essec, passed through the banking sector (BNP Paribas, Société Générale, etc.), she is on the front line in the “economic war effort” waged against Covid-19 in Morocco.

Regularly ranked by Forbes among the most powerful women leaders in the Arab world, the one who also chairs the Club of Women Business Administrators in Morocco (CFA Morocco) believes in the place of the stock market as an instrument for financing companies in the kingdom and on the continent.

New modes of bond borrowing (green, social, and gender bonds), crowdfunding… Nezha Hayat wants to strengthen the place of capital markets by 2023 as an alternative to traditional financing, in line with the recommendations of the report on the new development model.

In her capacity as President of the AMMC, Nezha Hayat has joined the Board of Directors of IOSCO for the 2020-2022 term.

Africa and Middle East Regional Committee (AMERC) of IOSCO is the committee that brings together the region’s financial market regulators and whose work aims to examine exchange information and promotion of issues specific to the development of capital markets. AMERC comprises 28 ordinary members and twelve associate members, who represent regulators in Africa and the Middle East region.

The AMMC, the Moroccan capital market regulatory authority, ensures proper regulation of the capital markets in Morocco and promotes its development by ensuring transparency.

Nezha Hayat’s journey is a testament to the fact that with determination and hard work, anything is possible. She has inspired generations of women to pursue their dreams and has made a significant contribution to the growth of the Moroccan economy.
