Moroccan founders building in the ocean economy have a new call to consider: OceanHub Africa’s Cohort 8 accelerator takes up to 10 revenue-generating Blue Economy startups from across Africa into a nine-month programme with one-to-one coaching and introductions to funders. Selection closes on 6 December 2026 (no time zone is given). The application page’s FAQ says there is no fee and no equity.
Morocco’s founders are eligible as Africa-based startups, and the call lists a regional coach for Francophone markets. The hard part is the entry bar: provable revenue, at least two founders and a measured ocean impact.

Which startups qualify?
The Cohort 8 application page sets these conditions:
- A product or service that is already on the market, past the prototype.
- Commercial revenue you can prove. No minimum is set, but pilots and letters of intent do not count.
- At least two founders with complementary skills.
- Ocean impact that is clear and measured, using the Ocean Impact Navigator or equivalent metrics.
- A registered business operating in the Blue Economy or a neighbouring sector.
- Time for weekly sessions from at least one team member, and a founder or executive at the in-person bootcamp.
Up to three exception seats exist for pre-revenue ventures with registered or pending IP. The page says only one is currently open. No country other than Africa as a whole is named, so the call does not single out Morocco or any other market.
What the accelerator provides
OceanHub’s own page lists business, market, commercialisation and funding analysis, one-to-one coaching from Entrepreneurs in Residence and funder introductions. The application page adds weekly coaching, support on investor readiness, growth strategy and operations, a regional coach for West African and Francophone markets, and eligibility for OceanHub’s follow-on capital facilities. Travel to the bootcamp and the final showcase is paid by participants.
Steps and dates
- Read the programme page on OceanHub’s website.
- Complete the form on the Cohort 8 application page. Incorporation documents are mandatory, and a pitch deck and financials are requested if you have them.
- Apply by 6 December 2026. Reviews run on a rolling basis.
- If shortlisted, you will go through interviews and scoring. The top 20 hear back between 18 and 20 December 2026, then send a pitch deck and video by 18 January 2027. Pitches to the committee take place in February, and the cohort is announced on 15 February 2027.
What Moroccopreneur readers should check first
- Match your paperwork to the rule. Your Moroccan registration documents are the incorporation proof the form asks for, so locate them before you start.
- Count revenue that counts. Signed sales are evidence. A pilot with a municipality or a letter of intent is not, under the stated rules.
- Pair your founders on paper. Show who covers product and who covers sales or operations, because the call asks for complementary skills.
- Decide who travels. The bootcamp is in person, in April 2027, and the application page makes it a condition.
FAQ
Can a Moroccan startup apply?
Yes, if it is an Africa-based startup that meets the stated criteria. The call is continental and does not set country quotas.
Do I need to pay or give up shares?
The application page FAQ says no fee and no equity. Participants pay for their own travel to the bootcamp and showcase.
Is French spoken in the programme?
The page lists a regional coach for West African and Francophone markets. It does not state the language of the sessions, so ask OceanHub if that matters to you.
When will I know the result?
The top 20 are due to be notified between 18 and 20 December 2026, and the final cohort is due to be announced on 15 February 2027.
